One of the most likely misconceptions about spiritual realization is that the spiritually realized person attains some automatic transcendence of our humanness, including his or her emotional and personality flaws, including his or her neurosis. Any what could be called enlightenment, liberation, or salvation does not negate such humanness. Rather, such, at best, is a new relationship with humanness, in others and self. This allows a degree of humor toward simply the way we are as persons. The person who has a spiritual awakening and is living that daily may not be more socially adjusted or healthy as to personality, yet there is a transformed relationship of Heart toward life. So, rather than do battle with ourselves, we would better offer to Grace all of ourselves, including our weaknesses of body and mind, and pray to have a redeemed relationship with them. This, in itself, will entail some healing, for the battle against humanness is over, and you hold yourself, and others by Grace, in an embrace arising from the Heart. There is no salvation for us from humanness or negation of personality, but only with it so that in some way we have communion with our humanness and hold it in Love, as we pray to do the same toward others. The wars outside are an expression of the wars within; as we are against ourselves, we are against others. Peace begins with myself, and forgiving myself, and loving myself - all of myself. In our presentations here, we keep returning to the theme reaching out, so, it seems a good way to end today..., "Will we let ourselves allow ourselves to be human, and be at peace with that? Will we choose to reach out to ourselves and shine upon ourselves the Light of Grace?" Compassion to ALL. Grace with Grace. Amen.
